CSS Cash Prize Tournament

List of CSS Teams Attending

For those of you who are interested in participating in this tournament, there is an additional fee along with it ($25 per person) which will be paid at the LAN. This fee is a 100% in 100% out prize-pot for the tournament, and we will be offering hardware as well as the cash prizes. Payout will be 70% to first, 20% to second, and 10% to third. *Subject To Change*

The tournament will be MR15 structured with Round Robin matches, so that you will play more than 2 matches.

The Round Robin will start Friday evening at 7pm (will be 3-4 matches), and the double elimination tournament will start Saturday.

If you cannot make it Friday, you can still play on Saturday, and will be placed in the brackets at the end of the rankings. Double Elim brackets will start at noon on Saturday. We have a very strict "no waiting for anyone" policy, so if you're late, you forfeit.

Map list is as follows- Nuke, Inferno, Dust2, Train, Contra, Season, Tuscan. No CPL maps will be used due to copyright.

We also will have the entire university's internet, to allow you to jump on IRC and scrim with your team at the LAN. The average ping to a Chicago server is 15ms. We also have this as a backup plan in case a server box may crash.

Quake Live 1v1 King Of The Hill

The tournament will consist of 3 Kings.  You will be able to challenge any one of the 3 Kings during the allotted time of the tournament.  The 3 kings will be announced at 6PM Saturday.  After pizza is served, the King with the best record will have an automatic bye to the finals, and the other two kings will have a 1v1 matchup, best of 1 map.

The winner will then play the king with the bye in the finals.  Best of 3 maps.  Each player will get a chance to choose their own map, and if a 3rd map is necessary, it'll be chosen randomly from the pool.

Challenges- A player must be able to accept a challenge during the times given prior to the LAN.  If a player cannot accept a challenge and it is during the given times, he automatically forfeits.  To properly issue a challenge, you must come to the MC and call out which king you want to challenge, which we will have a up-to-date list on our ALP website.

Rules- The challenger is allowed to choose the map, and it is a 20 minute race to 25 frags.  Maplist will be released at the event.

POGS!

Yes, this is not a joke, Friday night at around midnight we will be hosting the MPCon's first ever WTF Tourney, which will consist of a 1v1 Pogs tournament.  Due to the nature of the event, we will be supplying Pogs and Slammers, BUT you are allowed to bring your own Slammers (not your own Pogs).  All slammers must be in circular shape, no towers or pre-cut slammers will be allowed.

To keep it towards gaming, we will be using mousepads as our play area.  If you have a QCK mousepad, or any form of thick clotch, it'd be greatly appreciated if you bring it when you play.  We will not have enough for everyone, and this will make the tournament go faster.

It is a single elimination winner take all tournament.  You will go up 1v1 against a player, and play pogs.  Each will start with 10 Pogs, the winner will be the one who takes home all 20.  There will be a clarification of rules before the tournament starts, as well as an open Q&A session.  We will be bringing roughly 20 slammers which range from plastic to metal.  I again would invite you to bring your own if you can.

This tournament is meant for fun.  That's what WTF stands for, Whats This Fun!  So come out, and take a break from staring at that giant screen.  Play Pogs, and remember the good ol days
